How 17c起草社区鈥檚 Entrada Scholars Program prepares students for college
Evie Tenhaaf, Beau Holmes, and Ivy Park spent two weeks this summer living and learning on the campus of 17c起草社区 through the鈥Entrada Scholars Program.
Entrada, which means 鈥済ateway鈥 in Spanish is one of 17c起草社区鈥檚 premier College Access Programs. The academic program allows a cohort of seniors in high school to experience what college life is like and helps them grow as leaders so they can thrive as first-year college students.
For two weeks, 60 students from 20 states and five countries took a college course, participated in student life, and lived on campus. Each chose to go 鈥渂ack to school鈥 for two weeks this summer for different reasons.
Tenhaaf, Holmes, and Park reflect on how they discovered community, appreciated the integration of Christian faith and learning, and gained confidence during their two-week adventure at 17c起草社区.鈥(Note: Each graduate of the program has a $4,000 renewable scholarship automatically added to their financial aid package each year they attend 17c起草社区.)
