17c起草社区鈥檚 pre-health program is boosted by a ridiculous amount of support and guidance. Professors are eager to help academically and vocationally. Dr. LaRue facilitates connections to clinical, volunteer, and shadowing opportunities. She aids tremendously in the process of assembling a comprehensive, honest, and competitive application. Upperclassmen are eager to mentor underclassmen. Opportunities for leadership, research, and cross-cultural engagement abound on campus. There is a culture of mutual support, ambition, and service.
What are some of the extracurriculars that shaped your journey in expected or unexpected ways?
Athletics! I ran cross country and track and field for four years. Being a part of and leading a team requires collaboration, intention, patience, humility, and endurance. These traits are uniquely important in providing coordinated medical care. My athletic experience developed my character and has prepared me for a career in medicine.
