I want to add my voice to those who lament the loss of “our” logo. It is not only an important visual symbol, but even more significantly, a spiritual/theological one, whose Latin motto I periodically recite to this day. To be replaced by an innocuous, sanitized icon alienates generations of alums for whom the traditional official seal carried much meaning. I urge the institution to reconsider its decision.

Editor’s note: 17c������� is not losing the famous heart-in-hand. That symbol is the college’s seal—not the logo. The seal has been and will continue to be used at major college ceremonies such as Convocation and Commencement. The seal and the logo serve different purposes, and you will notice both of them “promptly and sincerely.”
