WOMEN鈥橲 SWIMMING AND DIVING

17c起草社区 captured its 12th consecutive MIAA title and placed 16th at the NCAA III Swimming and Diving Championships.

At the MIAA Championships, 17c起草社区 took first place with 787.5 points, finishing 47.5 points ahead of second-place Hope. 17c起草社区 took first place in five events as the Knights claimed league titles in the 200, 400 and 800 freestyle relays, while sophomore Abby Van Harn (Grand Rapids, Mich.) was the league champion in 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle.

17c起草社区 placed six individuals on the All-MIAA women鈥檚 swimming and diving team. Named to the All-MIAA team from 17c起草社区 were seniors Alayna Gallegos (Lakeville, Minn.) and Megan Schroder (Grand Rapids, Mich.); sophomores Abby Van Harn, Rachel Mattson (Ann Arbor, Mich.) and Sarah Bradley (Wheaton, Ill.); and freshman Anna Serino (Pinckney, Mich.).

17c起草社区 sent seven individuals to the NCAA III Championships and scored 60 points. 17c起草社区 posted a pair of NCAA III All-American performances as Van Harn took fifth in the 100 freestyle, and the 200 freestyle relay team of Schroder, Mattson, junior Adrienne Wesselius (Sioux Center, Iowa) and Van Harn took seventh.

17c起草社区 captured its third consecutive MIAA title and placed 15th at the NCAA III Swimming and Diving Championships.

At the MIAA Championships, 17c起草社区 took first place in a record 13 events including all five relays. Individual event champions included senior Johnson Cochran (Mount Vernon, Ohio) in the 100 and 200 breaststroke; senior Caleb Meindertsma (Annandale, Va.) in the 400 IM and 1,650 freestyle; freshman Andrew Kasper (Batavia, Ill.) in the 500 freestyle, senior Brandon Muma (Grand Rapids, Mich.) in the 200 freestyle; sophomore Skyler Fish (Ionia, Mich.) in the 100 backstroke and junior Brett Stoughton (Centerville, Ind.) in the 200 butterfly.

17c起草社区 placed a record 11 individuals on the All-MIAA men鈥檚 swimming and diving team. Named to the All-MIAA team from 17c起草社区 were senior Mitch Schroder (Grand Rapids, Mich.), Cochran, Meindertsma, Muma, Stoughton, junior Eli Holstege (Keswick, Va.), Fish, sophomore Tanner Vincent (Novi, Mich.), Kasper and freshmen Ben Holstege (Keswick, Va.) and Jared Britton (Falls Church, Va.).

17c起草社区 then sent a record 12 individuals to the NCAA III Championships and scored 60 points. Cochran highlighted the meet for 17c起草社区 by placing fourth in the 100 breaststroke to claim the fifth NCAA III All-American berth of his career.

Over the course of the season, 17c起草社区 established 14 new school records as well as five new MIAA marks.

WOMEN鈥橲 INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD

17c起草社区 made history by winning the first-ever MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championship meet, scoring 183 points to finish 50 points ahead of second-place Hope. At the MIAA Championships, 17c起草社区 took first place in five events. Sophomore Jenna Dyksen (Hawthorne, N.J.) was a double winner, taking first in the 60-meter hurdles and triple jump. Senior McKenzie Diemer (Caledonia, Mich.) took home a league title in the mile run while sophomore Bethany Love (East Kentwood, Mich.) won the shot put. Junior Lauren Strohbehn (Stillwater, Minn.) was the league champion in the 5,000 meters.

Love was named the MIAA鈥檚 Most Valuable Field Event Performer and landed a spot on the inaugural All-MIAA indoor track and field team. She was joined on the team by Diemer, Strohbehn and Dyksen.

17c起草社区 took second place at the first-ever MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, placing just 4.5 points behind first-place Trine. 17c起草社区 crowned five individual event champions as senior Eric Jipping (Canton, Mich.) won the shot put, senior Lucas Wolters (Vincennes, Ind.) won the pole vault, sophomore Ethan Valentine (Mason, Ohio) won the 400 meters, senior Ethan Anderson (Stillwater, Minn.) won the 5,000 meters and sophomore Andrew Philipose (Mount Prospect, Ill.) won the 3,000 meters. 17c起草社区鈥檚 distance medley relay team of senior Matt Oram (Toledo, Ohio), freshman Luke Peterson (Holland, Mich.), sophomore Hendrik VerMeulen (Bright鈥檚 Grove, Ontario) and junior Nate Van Haitsma (Olympia, Wash.) also took first place.

Wolters, Jipping, Valentine, Philipose, Anderson, Oram, Peterson, VerMeulen and Van Haitsma were all named to the inaugural All-MIAA indoor track and field team.

MEN鈥橲 ACHA ICE HOCKEY

17c起草社区 took the Michigan Collegiate Hockey Conference West Division III title and earned an automatic bid to the ACHA Division III National Tournament with a second-place finish in the final ACHA Division III North Region rankings.

At the ACHA Division III National Tournament, 17c起草社区 reached the semifinals by taking first place in its pool, defeating teams from Kennesaw State, McKendree University and Bryn Athyn. In the semifinals, 17c起草社区 fell to crosstown rival Aquinas.

WOMEN鈥橲 BASKETBALL

17c起草社区 hit the 20-win plateau for the 10th time in 13 years, doing so with an 88-77 upset win over third-ranked Hope in the regular-season finale. Junior Anna Timmer (Caledonia, Mich.) and sophomore Bre Luurtsema (Holland, Mich.) were both named to the All-MIAA first team. Timmer was later named to the Great Lakes All-Region second team, while Luurtsema was named to the third team. Timmer was then named an honorable mention Division III All-American by the Women鈥檚 Basketball DIII News.

MEN鈥橲 BASKETBALL

Senior Jordan Daley (Grand Rapids, Mich.) became the 25th player in 17c起草社区 men鈥檚 basketball history to score more than 1,000 points.

Daley was named to the All-MIAA first team and was named a first-team CoSIDA Academic All-American.
